This policy document informs you of TERI's policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of information we receive from users of TERI website and its associated sub domain sites/ services/ IT systems/ mobile apps (hereinafter referred to as "TERI's IT Systems"). As the IKI-India Platform is operated and maintained by TERI, hence the same privacy policies will apply to this website as well. In addition, as when TERI and GIZ, the implementers of the website decide, the privacy policy could be revised or changed at any point of time.

By visiting any of TERI's IT Systems, you agree to the collection and use by us of the personal information provided by you, in accordance with this policy. If you disagree with any of the terms herein, please immediately discontinue use of TERI's IT Systems.

Information Collection and Use

We understand and recognise the importance of protecting the information of users as per law. We are committed to safeguarding the online privacy of our users and do not intend to sell, lend, rent or provide your information to any third party.

How We Collect Information

When you visit TERI's IT Systems, we may collect your information, including personal information (including but not limited to, your name, email address, contact no., etc.) and demographic information like city, state, country, etc. which you may provide while registering for TERI programmes, courses or events, completing and submitting the 'Contact Us' form, requesting for TERI Newsletters, promotional emails and so on.

How We May Use the Collected Information

We may use the information collected from you to, among other things, send information/updates about the Programmes/ Events, respond to you, contact you and to manage and facilitate you during the Programmes/ Events.
The Mobile Apps may capture the Device ID in order to send out push notifications regarding the event. The Apps may also have a provision to exchange the contact data through QR code.

How We May Share the Collected Information

We will not provide your personal sensitive data or information to any third party without your consent except as required by law.
Your information may be shared with our successor entities, sub-contractors, business associates or advertisers who require it as a part of their functional responsibility.

Cookies

Server Log Files

When you visit a page on TERI's IT Systems, data including but not limited to: Date/ time, your IP address, website page you came from, your device, operating system/ version, browser type/ version is automatically stored in log files on our servers.
We may process such data to maintain and improve our platform, detect, investigate and prevent / rectify any (potential) errors of our platform, detect, investigate and prevent / defend against (potential) hacker attacks or other abuse of our platform as well as to prevent any damages that are likely to be caused and rectify any damages that have been caused by such abuse.

Facebook Plugin/ Widget

Our website(s) may include plugins or widgets for the social media network Facebook, Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA which can be recognized by the Facebook logo on the site.

Payment Processing

We process your payments through third party applications for which you are automatically redirected to the third party system. The transactions are made only via encrypted connections and we do not collect any financial information such as Credit Card numbers, CVV, Passwords, etc., while processing such payments, rather all such information is provided directly to the third-party processor, who uses your information to process the payments. The use of your information is governed by their privacy policy.

To receive our newsletters, you are required to provide a valid Email address and a confirmation that you agree to receive the newsletter. At any point of time, you may withdraw your consent to receive the newsletter by clicking on the "unsubscribe" link.

Corrections/Updating/Deletion of Personal Information

You may contact TERI at mailbox@teri.res.in if your information changes and we will update it accordingly. We keep the information that you provide us when you visit TERI's IT Systems till the time the purpose for which it has been collected is no longer valid.
You may also contact us to delete the information that we hold about you.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may modify this Policy from time to time to better address your concerns or to make other additions or changes that we deem appropriate in accordance with the law being in force. In case of any changes to our Policy, we will publish the updated Policy on our IT Systems.
