Energy Storage for Renewable Energy Integration in India    Completed

Project Lead: IKI
Duration: 01 Sep 2022 to 31 May 2023

Description :

The successful implementation of the project will support India in achieving its goal to integrate 500 GW installed capacity from non-fossil fuel sources by 2030. In this light, the outcome of StoREin is the creation of favourable framework conditions for the introduction of various storage technologies and integrated solutions on distribution grid level. The project furthermore contributes to bringing the energy transition closer to community level. This allows decentralised solutions to significantly contribute to India’s huge challenge of going carbon-neutral. This is particularly important in a scenario where large scale RE projects are recently finding themselves in conflict with local communities and ecologies. At the same time, StoREin will open a multitude of opportunities to local and regional stakeholders by promoting climate change adapted, economically viable and socially inclusive renewable energy industries.
